July 2017 – The Houston Mesa Fire Board signed a deal to allow the Payson Fire Department to respond to fire and medical calls in the Houston Mesa Fire District.

Houston Mesa Fire District turns over the money it collects in property tax levies to the Payson Fire Department to service the district.
